We've been traveling to North Myrtle Beach regularly for nearly 30 years. In recent years, we were using the largest rental company down here, but were constantly let down by poor cleaning and units in disrepair. This year, we tried Grand Strand Vacations and have been pleasantly surprised. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning our unit prior to our arrival. The maintenance person was responsive and was already addressing issues identified by housekeeping when we arrived. Maybe we got lucky with the unit we rented (Casa Mia), but we will definitely look to Grand Strand Vacations as our first choice when renting again in the future.

I waited to write this length review until I got my security deposit back, and if you read the end of this, you will find out why. Please do some deep diving into these reviews before you book with Grand Strand. I highly recommend booking with Elliott Realty. We have always booked with Elliott's until this time, and we learned our lesson. We booked Sea Cabin 150-E from 7/01 - 7/08. On 7/03 I went to the office and did all the necessary paperwork. This is when they put a hold on my card for the $100 pool key. This hold was returned the day we checked out. We had a few problems with our stay... On the day I did the paperwork, I mentioned in the office that we were not made aware that the pier was closed. I was given the runaround about the hurricanes and how it is out for bid, but I was never offered any compensation/partial refund in regards to the false advertising. We have stayed at Sea Cabin's many many times, and the pier is the reason we go. Never was it listed in the ad that the pier was closed, nor did they tell us over the phone. This is considered false advertising to me, because Elliott's will list in their ad if it is closed. After doing our paperwork and finally settling in, I noticed our room was NOT cleaned properly. I have photos of some sort of something on the floor between the bed and nightstand, the very dusty TV stand, a golf ball beside the couch, a fake perfume bottle under a stand, and a pair of socks behind the dresser. I sent these photos in an email on 7/3 and again on 7/5. I never received any sort of communication in regards to this matter. Lastly, in regards to the security deposit. Ours was $250. I called a couple of weeks after we left, because when I had checked in, the button hadn't been clicked to charge me for my pool key, so I wanted to make sure that it had been clicked so I would be getting my deposit back. I was told it had been and that I should get it 3 weeks after check out. I called 3 weeks after check out, and I was reminded that it would be 4 weeks as per our contract. So fast forward to 3 weeks and 6 days, I call again, and I am told it is not 4 weeks. If you check the calendar, 4 weeks from the date we left would be August 5th. According to them, it is by the day, so for example, we left on July 8th, it should be back by August 8th. Which to me is something else that is interesting about this place. Our contract says 4 weeks, but we are going to 4 weeks and 3 days? This has been a very interesting experience for me, and I have learned a very valuable lesson.. stick with the ones you know will do well!

We have used Grand Strand Vacations for several years after being let down by another management company two years in a row. I wish we found Grand Strand Vacations sooner. We are always treated kind and everyone is very friendly. Our issues are addressed immediately and we have been pleased with the houses we have selected. The only disappointment is some of the owners don't make improvements even after we leave reviews for them. Luckily, we were able to find another property after using the same house for three years. We are looking forward to trying out the new house we found next year.

My family stayed at A Summer Place Unit A7- 5600 N Ocean Blvd.. To be completely honest, the unit could use a good old fashioned deep cleaning. There was so much dust present throughout the unit which was evident that the unit is not being properly cleaned after each guest. The floors had not been swept good or mopped AT ALL.... and they should consider washing the comforters on the beds as there were many stains on both sides. Honestly, it is probably not a bad idea to replace the comforters. The master bedroom bathroom still had hair on the floor and around the base of the toilet. There was just so much uncleanliness that could be seen on the surface . The balcony had not been swept, there was trash (including cigarette butts) left on the balcony and behind the AC unit. I understand the unit has been remodeled. However, there is a very peculiar smell/odor in the unit. It is a cross between mildew, mold, musk and urine (my kids added the last description). The unit needs to be treated for ants as well. There was a heavy presence of ants in the master bedroom- including the bed and naturally the kitchen. Even without leaving food out the ants were bothersome. The smoke detector in the unit would alarm for no reason at all- no smoke in the unit, no stove on..- Nothing. The electrical outlet on the deck did not work, I did call the office attempting to get this resolved during our stay but was informed that the owners were aware the outlet was not working and failed to resolve this prior to our booking and would not resolve it during our stay- perhaps they have given this the attention needed by now. The balcony is also a very small area because the AC unit is housed there therefore, its a very tight space if you decide you want to entertain in the space. There is only seating for three people. The other chair is inside the unit in the living room. ( I have provided a picture of the space for a visual). There are no smoking signs posted in the unit and on the property however, it is quite unfortunate that this does not seem to be enforced as I personally witness people standing outside smoking and I could smell smoke when outside of the unit as well as the cigarette butts left on the balcony of the unit. The positive about this unit is the direct access to the beach however, it is situated directly at the access point and just above the pool therefore, there is direct contact with all of the communication from people going to and from the beach and the pool including hearing people rinse off with the water just below the unit. If you decide to stay in this unit make the best of it like we did and enjoy your family and or friends away from the unit- besides, I understand people go to the beach to enjoy the beach not to stay inside. Peace and bliss beach bums.

Hello: We just spent a week from September 17-24 at your listing at 3108 N Ocean blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC. I would like to share with you our bad experience at the above property and demand that you take proper actions to correct it. 1- Dishwasher was not installed at the rental but was listed as available. 2- Outdoor grill was broken not usable. 3- All door locks were rusty, extremely hard to open. We asked maintenance to apply w4d but still hard to open. 4- Weak battery caused Smoke detectors chirping. All should be replaced every 6 months. We requested new battery for kitchen on the first day. The third day detector in small bedroom beeping caused us to call maintenance but could not reach anyone until later. I had to drive to the office to pickup fresh battery. 5- The place is infested with cockroaches. They crawled on my face when I slept. They were all over our clothes in closet. We had to deinfected our belongings when we get home. There were evidence someone knows about it but did not take proper action. We saw cockroach spray under sink.

Booked a rental, and then 10 minutes later got a one line email. "Sorry, the owner booked it" It would have been nice if they would have called or offered actual customer service to recommend a different property they have available.

Booked late for 4th of july week sometime late in May. The pictures and description were completely false. Probably from at least 10 years ago. The furniture is completely outdated, uncomfortable and not what was in the pictures. Lots of chipped paint outside on decks, windows, etc. Again, different from the pictures. The refrigerator is covered in rust and the bottom shelf is broken. Were told cable tv on all tvs. Not true. Just Netflix. All painting and decor needs updated throughout. The dining table wouldn't be fit in a frat house. Will not be back or recommend ever! Also, smells like dog inside.

Decent rental agency for the area. Condo was clean quiet and comfy. Kinda pricey but not bad for location. Right down the beach from where the fireworks were set off. Customer service is top notch if you have and issues or questions prior to and during your trip. Would rent from them again.
